It was wonderful to welcome back members of the 1843 Society for their annual lunch at the College, allowing us the opportunity to express our gratitude for their generosity and to update them on the school’s current news.

This year’s 1843 lunch featured the return of ‘Back to School,’ where two beaks joined members for classes in Sports Science and History of Art. This unique opportunity allowed them to see how teaching has evolved since leaving Marlborough and the current curriculum taught to pupils.

This was followed by members enjoying a drinks reception and lunch in the Common Room Dining Room. The Master, Louise Moelwyn-Hughes, and 1843 Society President, Rupert Mullins (CO 1967-70), spoke, and Rev Horace Busk (PR 1948-52) said grace. After lunch, retired History beak, David Du Croz (CR 1996-07), gave a tour to celebrate 100 years of the Memorial Hall.

We look forward to welcoming members back to the College later in the year for their 1843 Carol Service in Chapel.
