Marlborough Difference Campaign Private Launch

Thursday 23rd March 2023

Some of the College’s most supportive Old Marlburians, parents, bursary ambassadors, and friends gathered to be among the first to hear about the launch of the College’s bursary fundraising campaign: The Marlborough Difference Campaign.

Welcomed with a glass of prosecco, invited guests watched Giles Henderson, Chairman of Council, announce the name of the campaign and the premier of the campaign’s film. Following a round of applause, Kirsty Young a current parent and exceptional broadcaster interviewed the Master and current bursary recipients, Poppy, Harlan & Alexis.

Senior Prefects Grace and Woody were then welcomed to the stage to share more about the upcoming Launch Day plans for the 19th April 2023. They explained that to celebrate Launch Day, pupils have created a jam-packed afternoon of activities including the popular Tug of War tournament, a colourful run, and House games to raise money for bursaries. Parents, Old Marlburians and friends can show their support online by making their first gift to the campaign.

The Private Launch event at 180 The Strand in London, a Soho House venue, was hosted by Nick Jones and Kirsty Young and was the first step in launching the campaign that aims to reach 100 full bursary places so that 10% of pupils will receive a free education at Marlborough by 2033.
